Mel Gibson pulls a stern look as he plays a game of blackjack in a Las Vegas casino.

His poker face reveals little about the hand he's been dealt, but after his first game the actor had to make a dash to collect more funds after running out of money.

The Braveheart star was playing at a $50 blackjack table when he embarrassingly ran out of funds.

He also spent some time taking his chances on the roulette wheel during his casino jaunt earlier this week.

Last night, the 53-year-old brought his pregnant girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva along with him to the grand opening party of the Playhouse casino.

It was reported that he got into a scuffle with the friend of a photographer who attempted to take his picture inside the venue.

According to U.S. reports a female snapper from Life and Style magazine took a photo of him and his 39-year-old partner while posing as a fan.

His entourage promptly took the camera off her and deleted the images.

But, undeterred, the unidentified woman then asked her male friend to take another picture at which point Mel stepped in and allegedly ripped his shirt during a confrontation, website Hollyscoop reported.

The star is expecting his eighth child with his new girlfriend, having already fathered seven children with his estranged wife Robyn

Russian Grigorieva recently revealed that the baby she is expecting with Mel, who already has seven children with estranged wife Robyn is a girl.

‘Oksana and Mel are over the moon,’ a source told the Mail on Sunday.

‘Oksana is very happy and in love with Mel. She’s a very calming girl and will be a stabilising influence on him.’ 

Mel and Oksana stepped out as a couple just two weeks after his wife Robyn, 52, filed for divorce in April.
